Although there is no official dress code, some golf clubs require or ask that certain clothing be worn on the round or that certain clothing not be worn on the round. In principle, these rules are part of etiquette (see there) and are therefore generally applicable. Accordingly, the gentleman should not wear sleeveless shirts or too tight shorts on the round. Jeans were not so popular until recently, but can now be worn without problems. Trousers with holes should not be worn. However, classically cut trousers with check patterns, polo shirts, slipovers and waistcoats are particularly popular. Meanwhile these dress codes are becoming less and less important. In principle, you can wear whatever you like.
