Arccos introduces enhancements to the Arccos Apple Watch app with an update that gives users a seamless, phone-free shot tracking experience. The UX improvements allow users to start a round of Arccos shot tracking on the world’s best-selling smartwatch without having to touch their iPhone.
The Apple Watch, which nearly 20 percent of Arccos members prefer, also allows Arccos Caddie members to view A.I. Rangefinder distances and receive personalized club recommendations. In addition, they can add penalty strokes, see shot history and hole results, and make any necessary changes.
Among the new features of the app is the ability to mark hole locations with a simple press of a button on the clock when standing right next to the flag. This provides more accurate insights into short game and putting, and Strokes Gained analyses highlight areas for improvement.
To access this feature – which is optimized for the Apple Watch Series 5 and newer – all you now have to do is open the Arccos Caddie app for the Apple Watch, confirm the course and tee shots you want to play, and start your round. The app then syncs with the smart sensors in the grip of each club to determine exactly when and where a shot was made.
The new features for Q1 2023 are:
- On-Course Data API: This will allow companies to develop, products and services that leverage golf course data for each player in the Arccos system (SSO authentication process). Application areas may include golf instruction, fitting, e-commerce, media and travel.
- Launch Monitor Data Capture: phase 1 of the project to combine data collected on and off the course. It will allow players to easily enter session parameters and 8 characteristics that support Arccos’ A.I., including “smart carry” distances.
- A.I. Rangefinder with advanced personalization: uses weather, slope and launch monitor data to provide even more accurate distances to any point on the golf course. These include the new “Smart Carry” distances and club recommendations.
- Arccos for Apple Watch: Apple Watch owners (Series 5 and newer) can start and play a round without having to access their iPhone.
