Bernd Ritthammer was born in Nuremberg on April 18, 1987. He began playing golf at the age of three. In 1998, he was accepted into the BGV support squad (Bavarian Golf Association) and in 2004 into the DGV selection squad (German Golf Association). For four years he plays in the 1st Bundesliga with his team of the Golf Club am Reichswald.
In 2006 he achieved a significant career leap. With a handicap of +2.3, he switches to playing professionals and continuously improves his PGA ranking. In 2006 he was ranked 45th, but in 2009 he has already climbed to 8th place. Bernd Ritthammer is currently one of the best German pros on the Challenge Tour.
At the end of 2011 he will qualify for the European Tour at the Final Stage at the PGA Catalunya Resort with an overall score of 12 under par.
